A few words from Malcolm

On Visiting a customers Georgian house in Cheltenham she had an interesting situation where her original flagstone floor had been covered over the years with lino carpet She did not think it would come up very good and was thinking of either taking them up or recovering with carpet, having cleaned a small part up and she seen the results the customer wanted the floor restored so it was in need of a deep clean and seal. The customer had heard of me through word of mouth, she felt confident I was going to do a professional job.

My first job was to distribute a solution of two cleaning products. Tile doctor remove and go, and tile doctor nano tech HBU. The cleaning solution was left to dwell for 1 hour then with a black scouring pad fitted to a buffing machine, I set about to remove ingrained dirt. Cleaning commenced and slurry was then hoovered up using a wet and dry vacuum. The floor was rinsed and the process was repeated until I was satisfied it was cleaned to a high standard. the stubborn cement and glue was removed with a scrapper and hot steam machine. The result was impressive.

I then set about removing old black grout which the previous owner had put in and replaced with a more natural colour. The floor was left to dry for 2 days. On my return I carried out a moisture test to see what seal it would take and the out come was a matte finish using Tile Doctor Colour Grow, as the flagstones did not have a membrane under them an impregnator was the best sealer to use. 3 coats were applied leaving to dry in between.
